How old are they? If they are under a year, the juvenile molt isn't nearly as thorough or impressive. Plus, depending on when they were hatched, they may simply not need to molt. All chickens molt, but some are more discrete about it than others. One of my EE hens the only way I could tell was that she was missing all her tail feathers. She molted really evenly and not all at once, so she never had any bald patches or areas where there were obviously feathers missing, and I never really found a lot of feathers that were obviously hers in the yard either. But when I picked her up, I could feel all the new pin feathers coming in all over the place under her fluffy feathers.

OK, I went through the whole thread, and there are some really hideous molts going on alright - but I still think this is the best pic of the lot:

Thats ours. Poor girl her sisters were a bit more even with their molt. Next year I hope to have a few more, going from 3 hens molting now to 37 next year!

Here are some pics of my sad looking easter egger hen...She's in my avatar. She started molting a few weeks ago and is finally getting some pin feathers in. The dark brown easter egger just grew back all of her feathers and the gold one is just starting to molt. So I'm getting any eggs right now...it stinks.

here's two pics of her before
