Ended Official BYC Contest: Worst Chicken Molt Pictures - Fall / Winter 2011

I only have two that will molt this year( I hope) and so far they don't look to bad. Thelma is looking shabby but no nakedness. I have had feathers all over the coop for weeks now since I have young pullets in there. This is my first year with chickens and I knew they molted but I did not think it got that bad.

Here's what I've done with the feathers I gather from my moults . . . I wash them first, then dry. Got a styrofoam wreath from the local craft store, and just pushed the plumes into the wreath, picking out different colors in layers. Voila! This year, I've got a tall styrofoam cone that will make a nice Christmas tree!!!
