Ended Official BYC Mini-Contest—What's Your Hobby?

I resell clothing on eBay. The thrill of the hunt combined with selling items for a lot more than you paid for them is what makes my hobby so fun. It does make a little extra money, but nothing to live off of. I do it because I enjoy it.

Entry 2 - Sewing
Another Hobby I learned from my Grandma Honey. I enjoy sewing very much. I make stuffed animals, blankets, towels, pillow cases, holiday items, Mug Rugs & placemats, bowl cozies and I'm constantly learning and growing.
Every holiday & Birthday I make something for everyone.

Entry 3 - Woodburning aka Pyrography

I absolutely love doing this. I've been doing it since about 2012. I would love to eventually expand my wood skills to carving. Maybe once the kids are older haha

Hobby #2:

I also like to collect coins. I am aiming to collect all the coins from all the years. (All the coins in circulation.) My coin book is quite heavy. I nearly dropped it the other day!
I record what coins I have on Excel. Red means I don't have it, green means I have it, yellow means none made in that year: except the ones for selling in the mint gift shop. Purple means I have one not intended for circulation.

Hobby #3:

Can I count chickens as a hobby? If not, don't count this entry.

I love chickens. That's all there is too it really. I have had chickens since I was born, but they weren't really... my chickens if you get my meaning. The first chickens I got that were mine mine, were 3... chickens... called Peso, Captain Barnacles, and Kwesi. I got them in 2011. So... I've had chickens that were mine for.... 11 years! Wow... I didn't even notice it had been that long!
About my current flock, there is 38 of them. The newest members of my flock:

6 baby OEGBs! They are soooo small!

My other cuties! They are 5 weeks old today. There s 4

Plymouth Rocks, 4 Silkies, and 8 Sussex's.

And my adult flock, the most of them I've ever gotten in one photo.

That is a very cool thing to collect. Are they AUD?

I would say my biggest most recent hobby is definitely my chickens. Watching them, drinking coffee with them in the mornings while they chatter away, taking pictures of them, and being their roosting spot and safety spot. I think of hobbies as something that brings you joy, satisfaction and relaxation…and chickens fit this perfectly for me.

They are not cheap, they require more maintenance than I ever imagined, they eat and poop a LOT, and they get sick way too easily…but I love them to pieces. 😍❤️😍
