Ivy is a poisonous plant. If the chickens eat that they might not have enough food. Please give the chickens more feed/grasses/veggies to avoid that they eat really everything that grows.
They have 2 feed containers 24/7, plus the scratch that we give them. We give them our leftover veggies too

I have resorted to laying sticks in a broad grid over my spring bulbs so they aren't eaten before they can flower. I have made temporary cages around small trees etc. We're going to expand their run this year and then I will grow goodies for them inside their own area. For now, my kids have to supervise the birds when they're free ranging, partly for the garden and partly to keep the hawks/eagles away... I really want to incorporate a chicken moat around my main veggie garden to keep the grass/bugs from invading

they have their garden BUT my vegetable garden is inside their area, protected by a pointless fence. for some reason they often walk on the fence but they never jump inside... something I'd rather not investigate because I don't want to break the spell.

on the other hand, they often trespass the border with my garden (protected by a high fence) and eat every other plants... 🤷‍♀️

thank you, I grew up in a flat in the city so I'm very proud of my garden! this picture is from the last year, I live in the low mountain and it's still too cold now, we usually wait till may first to start planting (very short season... but we are almost there!)! there were cauliflowers, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, cucumbers, pumpkins, green beans, different kinds of lettuce, peppers... I can't wait to start again!
