26 chickens, 18 ducks and a female turkey called Gerald.

LOL I take names happen early in your household? We have no names yet, it is hard to eat dinner with a name....

i have 32 chickens and i spoil them too much!

17 chicken and 2 turkeys. Their names are Dumpling, Scrambled, Heart, Love, Sky (The Sky is falling), Little (Chicken Little) and Cadburry (lays chocolate colored eggs), Mia, Mya, Gia, Taylor, General Tsau, Nugget, Big Foot, Julia, Boiled (eggs), and Flower, and the turkeys are Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I have recently become addicted to Chickens. We have wanted chickens for a long time, this year my 6 year old was given the opportunity to bring home chicks hatched in her 1st grade class. So with the chance to get chicks we started to prepare for the minimum 6 chicks we would have to take. The class having a overwhelming interest number of families wanting chicks and few live hatches they implemented a lottery, which we did not win. So with our losing the lottery we went and purchased chicks locally. We purchased all the supplies and 8 chicks. I was hooked, going to the store the next day to buy more feed I came home with 12 more. We have lost 2 along the way, leaving us with 18. I love our chickens and can't wait to get more.

I had 12. I had to put one to sleep because he was attacked and gravely wounded.

So that left 11.

I had to give away 3 roosters because they were becoming aggressive, spurring and attacking me and other people in the family.

That left 8.

Then something attacked my precious June......

So now I have 7.. A rooster and 6 hens.

It is awful when things like that happen. I lost all of my first in the "Layers coop" first time to the fox then to the mink. Fortunately now I have moved and we haven't had a problem these four years. I hope you are not disheartened because they really are wonderful.

4 mixed breed hens (Betty, Blue Bell, Stripes, Duck Duck)
(All of these lay everyday)
