One day I decided I was going to start raising chickens so I Googled something chicken related and found my way here.
I cannot remember exactly what I Googled but I ended up here every time I Googled something.

My boy, Patriot, bit the wire fence during below freezing temperatures and damaged his beak, causing him to stop eating. I asked questions, had a problem, got answers, learned stuff - then discovered the awesome community, articles, contests, and everything else.

I used to always research chicken problems through my chicken books, then one day I started researching online. Oftentimes, I found myself on this forum, and so finally one day I decided to join.

I'm the same as @Kiki I had questions, and every time I Googled, it led me here. The people here seemed so helpful and knowledgable that I joined so I could pick their brains directly.

Same as posted above, anytime we had questions about chickens, the internet always showed "Backyard Chickens". I've been viewing BYC for a few years, but never really decided to comment on threads until a few months ago and made an account. Now instead of just getting answers to questions that I search for on Google, I can ask a specific question and also try my best to help others with their questions. Now I enjoy reading articles, threads, trying my best to help others, entering my pictures into fun contests, looking at other's pictures, and meeting new friends. BYC has a lot more than what I expected before I made an account. I only wish I had made my account sooner!

I'm going to add that I am truly glad that I have managed to become a contributor to this site. I get pass along knowledge that was given to me and my experiences as well.

That's a large factor as well. Google says your answers are on BYC.

I actually found this place by searching "chicken forum"
I joined because it was the most active one.
At the time I was just looking to read and learn. Over the years I've used the forum for most of the reasons listed.
The exception is the "in love with Kiki" one. I don't even like her.
