Our thread that was started about the Solstice seems to have finally died... So I figured it was time for an official thread!

So I guess I'll start

I just picked up a book by Freya Aswynn titled: Runes & Feminine Powers: Norther Mysteries & Magick. Have to say that so far it's pretty dry but does give some good background. Was hoping it'd be a bit more into reading runes. Ah well, I'll get as much out of it as I can. Also finally found a pendulum that spoke to me. I visited a beautiful store called Serpent's Kiss in Santa Cruz and they had a bunch of pendulums. Some were very pretty, but none of them moved for me except this cute little jade one that spun in crazy clockwise circles for me, so I had to take it.

Also got a cute little Desert's Rose, looks like two roses together. So I'm a happy camper right now.

EVERYONE WELCOME

I am up at this unfathomable hour, not by choice. I couldn't do this every day if my life depended on it.

Thanks for making this Kanchii.. I had forgotten about the Solstice thread...OOps..

I have been Pagan for about 17 years now and also practice touch healing, tarot, divining, herbal lore, and about any other thing you can think of.. I strongly encourage any and all to read " A Witches Bible" by Janet and Stewart Farrar.. Amazing book with awesome history and background .. They are Gardenarian so I stay away from their rituals but love the first half of that book.. I worked at a metaphysical store off and on for about 8 years, I learned so much working in their and being able to use clairvoyance daily made it second nature to me.. I had a small time last year that I thought I would move away from the Goddess but she very gently brought me back to her..

Have to get ready to take DH to the doctor soon. There's definitely a nap on my agenda for when we get home. I'll be sure to visit this thread later today.

Have a great day Coop Crazy. You too Kanchii.

Bright Morning all. Pagan elder here been practising for over 20 years. Path is Goddess oriented. I read tarot, am a reiki 2, herbalist and true country dwelling pagan. We have been on our place now in the country for over 2 years and loving every bit of it. Hubby is pagan also and grew up n a big family farm. Myself I grew up in the city but spent summers in the country. Moved from South FL up the coast to SC to PA and down to TN.

Gosh pagan background would take a bit to put down so the short of it is I have been in many paths. Starting with Dianic then on to Egyptian Tameran, then celtic wicca, ADF druid and back to just plain old pagan. I each of those paths I helped run a group and taught as well. I have met some great people and some plain old wack jobs.

One book I like to read every year is about Kwan Yin and how she has changed thru the years. It is a good histroy on how a diety develpos and changes with the times. I have not bought a pagan book in some time due to other things happening in life. Now the book I buy have to do with farm animals and crops. I spend more time on crafts and cooking than ritual practice. Big change from years ago where is was all ritual no craft stuff. I guess when you are living with Mother nature as close as we do now ritual work just is not as nessascry. My ritual work now is done for thanksgivings not much else.

Thanks for saying good morning, Gritsar! I had to wake up at 8am, myself. Which isn't exactly early in most peoples books, but sooo early for me!

Ah well, gotta make money, and all that jazz!

CoopCrazy that's very interesting! I'm trying to broaden my horizons too, currently looking into runes, then going to go back and restudy tarot in more depth. Exciting!
