Hi!Just found this thread and wanted to pop in quickly. I'll catch up with all the posts in a bit.
I have been an eclectic Pagan for many years now. I have walked many roads that have led me to where I am now comfortable with my spiritual beliefs even though others don't understand them and have condemned me for them. I follow the path of the Coyote. See the humor in your mistakes and learn from them. Learn to laugh and not take things so serious. my much beloved cat is passing tonight. Hubby brought home a black kitten when we married "because every witch needs a black cat", I think that more than anything else convinced me he accepted living with me.

ok, now that i am finished reading through 16 pages, i'd like to add myself to the list of pagan followers.
i grew up in the Methodist faith, my great grandfather was a lay minister for many years and i am sure if he was still alive he wouldn't be very happy with me. i remember going to church up till the time i was about 14 or 15 (now 32) when our church's pastor retired and a former Catholic priest took over for him. our original pastor was wonderful and always drew on other religions during his sermons and never downgraded any of them, instead he always preached tolerance and acceptance. i remember going into his office while i was going through my confirmation as a member of the church and seeing how many books on other religions he had in book cases covering the walls from top to bottom! his office was always opened if you wanted to borrow a book from him as long as he knew you wanted to. when the former priest came into the church things changed drastically. my parents stopped going and distasteful letters started coming to the house about not attending or sending money to the church.
i have been fascinated with nature, sciences and cultures since i was really young so it really didn't surprise me much when i started to be drawn into some of the different pagan stuff. around the same time we stopped going to church was when i found a book that had been in a box of yard sale stuff that belonged to my mom, it was by Linda Goodman called 'Sun Signs'. it basically goes through the different zodiac signs and their positions according to their placement and the sun (not the moon like most). this book helped to draw me in to finding out about other religions and pagan beliefs. since i am a Scorpio and read the section about it i realized how closely it described me and my personality (ok, so i am more like the gray lizard personality according to the book!) i also found out that Scorpios seemed to be drawn to the aspects of the occult and religions (i have not been drawn into any of them but at least i like to know about them).
i have a few books about crystals, one book with spells and practices that i find fascinating since it combines both crystals and healing/healthful herbs, but mostly i stick to the herbal/nature books and books about different cultures and religions. i keep a lot of different types of crystals and stones around the house, i love to garden and especially love to keep a lot of herbs around that are not just good in the kitchen but also for emergencies like for cuts/bruises and minor ailments. i've done lots of crafts over the years and i've especially loved to make dream catchers that are anything but the normal ones made by the native Americans but are still similar to their look (i use a lot of crystals woven into the design depending on it's purpose). i guess i would mostly consider myself a kitchen witch/hedge witch type, but i don't seem to follow any certain path but i am still intrigued to find out more!

Sorry to hear about your kitty Siddina. Sometimes we find the "right one" (husband, pet, friend)that fills a spot in our soul that can't be touched by anyone one eles no matter how hard they try.
My husband tells everyone that Spook is not my familiar (which I didn't realize he understood what it meant, lol) but is my soulmate. He is my husband, my love, my rock and I never want to loose him but even he knows he cannot reach the place in me where Spook can. My familiar is my little grey tabby who comes to me when I feel threatened in some way. She will even wake me from a dream that is frightening me.
