Chickie'sMoma, I LOVE Linda Goodman books!! My mom had her books as long as I can remember....heck, probably before I was born! I regularly use one of her books (don't remember the title and I am not gonna look) for numerology! She is an amazing writer and I find her books invaluable!

Saddina My heart goes out to you on losing your loved one.. It is alway so hard to lose such a beloved creature.. But try to celebrate the life she had with you and look forward to the many times you will see her again ... And dont be suprised if you still get woken from a bad dream of feel a lil furry rub on your leg.. My past famaliars always seem to stop by when i need them....

Good Morning All,

Yesterday while I was working outside clearing dead trees my mind started to wander, I do my best thinking out in Nature, I was thinking about this thread...........

I have mentioned that I am a student of Astrology. This is a "pull" that can not be denied. This however goes against EVERYTHING I was indoctrinated with. Yet I can not stop the ability that is hereditary. Yes hereditary. You see not only do I love Astrology I also love genealogy. I did some delving last night and talked with the family historian. This is what I found......

My great grandmother's name was Fontanella, there are a lot of Fontanellas in the Zoldo Valley, Italy. The last names have "sopranomes" to distinguish the families. My great-grands' sopranome is Stroleghi/o (add an "A" in front). This translates in the dialect of the Valley as Astrologer/fortune teller. They were the town astrologers. The whole family. How can you fight that????
I can read tea leaves too.

Anyway I had to share, it isn't like I can call the Fam and tell them, now can I. That would be bad.

Damummis Sorry to hear that you cant go to the family.. I love when you find someone in your family that was "Witchy"... I found that my GreatGreatGrandmother was an herbalist in her lil town.. Not a soul went to any real Drs when she was alive .. They got sick went to see her.. She'd stick bay leave under your tongue and do an incantation and voila no more sore throat... Love it .. It took my Grandma months after i came out for her to tell me that story and i am soo glad she did...

Oh, it is OK. I have learned to move on when it comes to family. You can't choose your family, huh.

I have a saying that I love ... Kin is the family you are stuck with ! Kith is the family "YOU" choose...

My Mom and I had a long talk about religion not long ago. I actually talked HER, the woman who shoved Christianity down my throat, into finding her way back to a kinder, gentler Christianity. She was having some doubts-let's face it there are some pretty hypocritical things going on out there in the Christian Right Wing but I showed her how to look past those things and cling to the things that SHE believes. In the meantime I was able to convey to her some of my beliefs. Amazingly, she's thinks my faith is such a peaceful, natural belief system that she has since defended to me to several of our zealot relatives. Now I haven't actually mentioned the "W" word, thought that might kill her dead but as easily as she accepted Pagan I guess I could have just gone right on and let her know the whole thing. Recently, there's been talk about the relatives each going in together to buy me a plane ticket so they could bring me to Florida and "intervene" me. LOL! Much as Mom wants to see me she put the kabosh on that right now.
