THAT is how I see that spark of energy we call "us" returning to the Fellow that created us--blending seamlessly back into what we originally came from and part of His whole once again.
I see "Him" as pure energy and pure intellect. I believe the universe is the body He creates for himself and we are part of that body. He is both artist and scientist and endlessly creates much the way that artists are always working on something new, exploring yet another facet of life. I think artists get that need to create from "Him" and that He is happily creating new solar systems and expanding the universe to include every brilliant thing he can conceive just the way an artist is always creating yet another song or painting yet another canvas. I believe that everything that exists all over the universe does so because He breathed a tiny bit of Himself into it. He is us and we are Him. That everything that is on this planet is here because He planned it that way and everything that dies ultimately goes back to Him. And because everything recycles after it dies, we are all made up of atoms and molecules and subatomic particles of everything that was here before us and everything that will come after us. We are a part of the Earth forever.
So while I do not "worship" the Earth, I do feel a part of everything that is here and have a need to love and respect it. I don't for a minute think that anything alive is somehow more important or "better" than I am, nor am I in any way better or more important than anything here. Dogs, cats, chickens, fish, plankton--we are all a part of the ecosystem He created here and we each have our place. But that does not mean we are any more important to that ecosystem than everything else is. We just each have our own role to fulfill.

edited to add that I think the whole concept of religion was created by man trying to understand what is impossible for us to understand--the One who created us. Since it IS a human invention, I don't ascribe to it. And I cannot believe that the One who is creating the entire universe is upset or offended by the opinions or theories about Him offered by some some insignificant little ant (me)!

I believe in reincarnation. I think we are a work in progress and we are here to learn lessons. When we die we go to the summerland to reflect on those lessons and rest until the people who challenged us most are ready to give it another try on Earth.
I think Coyote got the person trying to help me rather than my soldier.
I will PM on my suspicions so you can give me a read.....
Sune42 empathy is itself a gift but like others it can be a painful gift if you are not careful of it. My DD is extremely empathetic but it hurts her because she is not old enough to know how to shield herself or to handle the issues she picks up from others.
I am not sure this is a gift. Like others on here I believe in reincarnation, and I wonder sometimes if this "ability" now is supposed to be teaching me something I haven't gotten yet. All that exists on the other side of the veil is not pleasant.
I will PM on my suspicions so you can give me a read.....

I'm not sure about reincarnation although I believe in what is referred to as "cell knowledge". You pass information along in your cells, your DNA down through your children and their children. I believe that is why you get that dajuvu (sp?) feeling, Been here, done that before feeling.
I'm told by the Elders that there is a place where we go to be with the "Grandfathers" (all that have gone before us) to another place and wait until Mother Earth is ready for us to return.

Yup, after the Lance and Joshua I've not gotten anything. When I get stuff over the net it is like in your face, POOF See this! Hear this! Know this! I've done some research, but I don't think there is anything left for me to pick up. I think I was just here to help WHAT pick up on a few things. It's for them to help this guy.
Sune--you need to learn to block some of this. Especially if it causes you pain. I do a kind of ritual when I am faced with something like this. I invision myself as rooted into the ground, like a tree. My roots, my strength, rooted deaply into the Earth Mother. I surround myself with the glowing light of the Creator. I will then say (either in my head or out loud) "if this is of Creator, come to me calmly so I may understand. If this not be of Creator, please be taken from me and bring no harm" I then raise my arms, my limbs to the sky, with a deep cleansing breath. Once I reach the top, I give my hands one good shake to remove any "harmful or unwanted energy", and slowly exhale as I lover my arms to my side.
WHAT--do think this "ability" is here to teach me something. But sometimes I am just too dang dense to figure it out.

I think that we continue somehow after death but I am uncertain t exactly how. At one point in my life, that would have troubled me greatly, but now I feel peaceful about not having all the answers to life and death.
I do not believe in hell but, the former Christian in me does wonder what happens to truly evil people after death? After death do any of you think that they are given knowledge of the pain and suffering that they caused?

Again, I am not a subscriber to any definitions of heaven and hell that our popular with some world religions. I think this might be "hell" Think about it. Pain, suffering, lust, desire, hunger. All those physical aspects to life. I do not believe in a heaven which can be comprehended or put into words. Again the collective thing, no need to identify with the past self in the beyond. I feel it is somehow multi dimensional, ghosts and spirits are just traces or remnants of energy or brushes against some other dimension. I also feel we are incredibly small and miniscule yet not insignificant. I do not believe in direct intervention by "god", however all energy is part of "god" so intervention by ones self or others could be considered intervention by god?! As we are part of "god".
Being a scientific minded individual, I must admit to being fascinated with the repeating patters of everything as small as we can see in into the microcosm ie the make up of a quark to the macrocosm ie the make up of a galaxy. The same patterns! I feel these very same patterns may go infinitely small and infinitely large. They are all related. We are part of this physical infinity. As well as being part of a spiritual infinity that is some how instinctive like a salmon swimming up river to spawn where it was born.
Either way death is a good thing, with spirit energy's reuniting and reforming something else. Something beyond our ability to comprehend.
So to answer the question: Our bodies return to the earth, our spirit is released and it is a good thing not to be scared of.

I agree with another poster who says that you need to learn to control what kind of effect your empath abilities have on you. I'm both an empath and precog and for a very long time I was frightened by what I saw. Most of my precog visions happen in my sleep. Because I was so frightened, it caused me to be an insomniac.
A wonderful friend who was also a precog, taught me blocking, and how to protect myself. I am a very emotional person and alot of it has to do with being an empath. I cleanse myself frequently. I have a ring of 5 trees on my property where I go to meditate. There is an inner circle of Lily of the Valley's and I usually sit there in the inner circle. It really does help me to clear residual "stuff".
