ah yes..California the land of fruits and nuts....... Indeed..

Well, I am starting watermelon seeds this morning... Saddina you up for watermelon to go with that corn? If so they are for you.....My 4 year old choose watermelon. We do not live in "watermelon country" SO they will grow in the cold frame, maybe just maybe we will get fruit with our cool short northern summers.
Enjoy the youthful energy and enthusiasm of a 4 year old growing watermelon, enjoy the pride when he harvests and shares the sweet succulent fruit of his labor with his loved ones... In turn give us the warmth of your sunny disposition to nurture the tender crop..
Sorry, getting carried away this morning

Just a wee bit giddy this morning since.............................Oh yes! The humming birds are back for the summer....

(Just look for the guy with offerings of flowers in his hands and hair meditating in a field, attempting to commune with the hummingbird...)
Yep that will be me when the time is right... I am anticipating a spectacular journey..

Watermelon, corn and peaches sound like the beginning of a great summer picnic. The variety "blacktail mountain" was made to ripen in North Dakota, It's a sweet cannonball sized melon, open pollenated heirloom seed. Bakers carries seeds for it: rareseeds.com
