This male has what age today?
He always has these gray feathers on the wings !
We can see the black dark green iridescent of his pants ... we need more pictures of his pants !
All adult female have now brown patch between the eye and the beak ... it was not the case when they were younger ... right?

Hello Dani,
regarding your questions
The male is 3,5 years old.
The feathers are not grey. The feathers are brilliant black and in the pictures they are reflecting the sun light.
Below you will see the leg details of four different males and more or less, depending on the light on molting condition they are all similar. If the sun is on the legs the feathers are shining green and in the shadow they are looking nearly black.
This I cannot confirm this. Some of the hens are having a very dark brown closed to black. But it is different compared to the males. The males are having black/dark grey and when the sun is on it shines green.

Very beautiful peafowl as always!

This hen was the first chick which I bred in 2013 from the in 2011 imported green peafowl from Thailand. On the pictures she is 16 month old. The strong legs she has got from her father.
I love the dark yellow, nearly orange area in her face. This is as we can see it on many pictures from wild birds.

Yes this is no secret, it is nothing special
- a pellets forage for pheasants
- turtle dove seeds
- Peanuts
- meal worms
- grass which she is picking in the aviary
- seasonal fruits like apples, grapes, cherries or bananas

This is helpful and interesting, thank you!

Can you tell us what turtle dove seeds are?

Also, do you give the peanuts whole or chopped? Are the peanuts cooked (roasted) or green? Or do you mean something like a chickpea?

It never occurred to me to feed peanuts to the peas, but they do have a great deal of protein, I think...
