That is really cool. I love green peahen crests! So are these all of your breeder hens for next year? Hopefully you can get many peachicks from them!

Yes this are all my breeder hens. As you can see on the pictures, most of the hens are acutally moulting the crest feathers and getting a lot of new once. Finally the crests will be longer and more fully.

I did notice they were molting, but considering that, the crests are still stunning. So how many breeder peacocks do you have of the imperators?
Next spring I have 3 three year old and 3 two year old males of imported Imperators. In February / March, depending on the weather I will make the same again. Then you can see the differences in crests length and then I will make a head studies of the males too.
For the males it is a little bit too early now.

I cannot wait to see the male crests! Are you going to pen them as pairs and trios? Lets hope that means great fertility.

I will pen them (1;1) or (1:2) the rest we will see. I will not breed as much as possible because it is not so easy to find good places for the offsprings. If somebody will reserve a certain number of birds in advance then I will do maybe a little more.
But now the winter is coming, the trains are growing and I don't spend at the moment too much time to think about what happens in the next breeding season.
