Not sure...I had a lavender Orp pair and the only way I was able to determine my roo was a roo that early on was because of the tail/saddle feathers on the two of them. Their combs grew about the same pace.

Maybe they meant he turned out to be a "him", not a "hen". Who knows?

When some bozo called us at 6:10 a.m. the other day off a chicken flyer we put up at Tractor Supply, the first thing I thought of was this thread, lol.
