Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

Ahhhhhh, cutest puppies ever:

DH and I were just talking about OE Bulldogs last night. Some day when I don't have to work all summer...some day...

(But wow, didn't know they were so expensive!)
It's like the nice lady said. Bulldogs can't deliver puppies normally, only by Cesarean. It's very risky to make olde English bulldog puppies, for both the dam and the pups. Not only are their heads huge, the dogs have been bred to have narrow hips.

I didn't know about them having to be surgically delivered. The price makes sense now. Such adorable pups.

A lot more pics on CL, but here's the idea:

Handmade Vintage Aviary / Chicken Coop - $1900

The Aviary / Coop is apx. 13 ' Tall x 5 .5' in Diameter at the base. The Coop is Handcrafted out of Old Barn Wood. The coop was Crafted by a Gentleman who lives in Greenlake, Wisconsin . Currently it is being stored in his barn . The door on the side makes easy access to the inside . The top of the coop is a copula that came off an Amish Barn, the metal actually has the wedding garland molded in it. The copula alone was $ 475. , purchased at the Elkhorn Flea Market . It's absolutely breathtaking .
We had it custom designed for a wedding .
It really would make a stunning statement in a retail shop, wedding , a garden , or in a Loft Condo . It could have many decorative uses , does not need to be used for chix. We were going to build it into a greenhouse and have butterflys in it..... The total cost that I paid was around $ 2500.00

I just didn't get why they'd try to charge so much for a used wedding decoration. You could buy a very, very nice coop to house a large flock for that price.

Having a few flock members attend a wedding sounds like a fun, unique idea. BUT The idea of paying $2500 to build a wedding structure for them to use ONCE is a little silly. It's also silly that it's been on/off Craigslist for over a year now.

It's also not even remotely safe. Chicken wire. Cheap hook latch. You'd have to replace with hardware cloth and/or welded wire and a better latch. So an added expense on top of that ridiculous fee. No wonder no one wants it.

On top of that, it's so BIG.

Even if you just wanted to use it for decoration and didn't care about safety, who has 13 foot tall ceilings? And almost 6 feet diameter is a lot of floor space in a store.

That would be awesome for doves, parakeets, etc. I could see my budgies enjoying it. But my pocketbook would not.
agreed
