Sounds more like a jolly jumbuck from a tuckerbag, to me.

I found an Ad I find amusing. the errors are so numerous, I wonder if this person even knows the breed at all.

It could just be because of my knowledge and love for them that I find it funny, but I throw it out there.

I only had the breed a short while and probably don't know them very well (I only have one hen I keep for eggs now) so could you tell me where the errors are? I don't think they're classed as a DP breed so maybe that is one of them? I definitely want to know because when I read that ad that's the only error I thought I saw, lol, so I want to learn and not pass on any misinformation in the future.

I found the term "greenfire line" to be redundant as they were the only importer. If yopu are going to go into the detail he did, I would think you should say which line your stock is from. There are 4 lines, thayt I am aware of.

The part on the picture about the Dot on the head of males and females not having them in wrong. Actually some of the better females have the dot. It is the location of the dot in relationship to the V that counts.

Both the chick he shows in the picture would be culled from my breeding flock. They are extremely poor examples of the breed.

The rooster in the 3rd picture is a poor bird and would be disqualified in a show using the new SOP's. He has no crest. BTW the name is Legbar for the breed. Cream is one of 3 colors being The other two are Crele and White.

|Males may have blurry stripes but many have no stripes. The stripe are not present on the white chicks. White chicks lose the autosexing or it is a real stretch to say which is which.

If they are dual purpose I am a body builder model. I have some of the bluest eggs I have seen in Legbars, It appears by the red in his hands the picture is retouched.

I am by no means an expert in Legbars. I do have all three colors, I show and breed them. I am NPIP also and just find the add funny in error and over the top.

As I said maybe most of you would not notice it or find it "weird"..

Thanks for giving me a chance to expound on the legbars. I have fallen in love with them and even if they started as a "greenfire flavor of the month " breed. I love them.

I am even willing to sell them as therapy chickens. I thought about offering them up as Therapy Chickens and I would only charge 100 bucks maximum regardless of how much your insurance covers......

I'm glad Pyxis asked, because I was going to ask also. Thanks for the explanation Ralphie. I don't have any yet, but creams are first on my list of "next" to get. Whenever I get to build another pen, that is.

Can you elaborate on the "Greenfire" part? And 4 lines? Seems everyone is playing up everything Greenfire lately. They have gotten very popular, whether warranted or not, I have no clue, but I'm not one to jump on a bandwagon just because of a name.

Thanks for all the info! I had a flock of them briefly, had a white one too, I was actually able to sex her at hatch. I ended up only keeping one pullet and now she just lives in my cemani flock.

Sounds like you're really passionate about these guys. I totally get it, I'm the same way with my ACs.
