Oh god help me is this bumble foot?

Thanks :) I was gonna update but I felt like the world's worst chicken mama at the time I didn't even know we had a problem with predators we've not lost a chicken (though we only had two for a LONG time) in over a year.

Hey, I just read through this whole thread ... I am a one-year -along chicken farmer and I might have a minor case of bumble foot in one of my hens. I found your story and it's given me much courage. I've bought my supplies and am waiting to see if the problem doesn't resolve itself.

I just got to the end here and was broken up to hear you'd lost Her to a stupid predator after your bumble foot journey. That's a good lesson I will try to learn from you too ... LOCK UP THE COOP! Still, it's hard to not forget every single night. I've remembered in the middle of the night and gone out in the cold dark in a bathrobe. You'd think a single dose of that would cure all forgetting but alas ...

Anyway, thank you for your Well-documented story, your bravery and honesty. You've made a difference in chicken land!

Well thank you for your compliments I hope this helps you out! Yes I've thought about putting a note card on my pillow lol or a reminder on my phone even! There is nothing worse than realizing you forgot to close the coop after you've gotten in bed lol be sure and let us know how your bumblefoot goes!

Give the chicken penicillin right side of the bone to cure the infection then give the chicken a long bath when the foot is not dirty cut a ring around the bumble foot to get to the root of the infection And then then use the the small knife to get the the infection out out of the foot then cover the wound I use a gauze pad on it then censiel it with sports wrap be aware it will bleed so controol the bleeding

Thank you for this post. Sorry you lost your girl, but your post has helped me a lot as well as many others, I imagine. I had no response from others and then found your post. Thanks again. You will probably be getting this for years! I will start the soaks today and hopefully have some help to do the surgery on Sunday.
