I have room for them, just no place to properly quarantine them. The hen shed (for the eating egg producers) is housing about 30 birds and it can handle 66, with the 4sq. ft. per bird rule. But yeah, you got the rest of it right on!
He won't let me sell them off... Plus, I know they are birds, but it's kind of unfair to them just because they are the wrong breed and came from an auction. I'll keep them quarantined and if they pull through the 4wks and seem healthy, I'll keep them. I did sell my RSLs, but I am short on egg layers since I've actually sold about 40 birds. But he owes me... Six chocolate bantam Orps, to be exact. Yep... $600 in birds for $5 in birds. Sounds fair to me! LOL, j/k... Or am I?
We've been married for almost 8yrs. So days I wonder what the heck I was thinking. He's almost exactly like my ex-husband. Except he doesn't cheat, he has/keeps a job, does house work, has a car and a driver's license. He isn't to bad, but yeah, he didn't think before bringing these girls home. And he does know about bio-security. We have been to two swaps and bought from another person once. I quarantine and have cages all over for a month after - he knows the deal. He just conveniently 'forgot'.
