OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

One of our new wyandottes is snoring and sounding very raspy. She's eating and scratching normal. The 3 new girls AREA quarantined. I put electrolyte in the water as well. Did 2 dropper full of the water into each girls beak.
Anyone have dealt with this before and healed successfully? Heading to rural king tomorrow for DYROMICN (spelling). I knew something was off when hubby said she was snoring. These girls are hatched earlier April/May, starting to lay and are still pullets.
Thx folks:D
your best bet is tylan 50 dosed at .2cc per pound three times a day. Unfortunately respiratory issues in birds are usually caused by disease and when they are introduce to another bird they will pass the disease along even if they aren't showing symptoms. It could be aspergillus(fungal infection) but it isn't that common.

Tylan is better than DYROMICN? Where do I get this? I give to the other quarentined ones? The other wyandotte is her hatch mate and is perfectly fine, only 'odd ball' is the buff Orpington. I will still collect eggs, but I will not use them. Is there any way to see if they (girls or eggs) are affected with anything we can treat girls with?

can I do syringe by mouth/ orally for 5 or so days instead of injecting? What is dosage if can't get tylan 50, for using tylan 200? 3-5 lb pullet

tylan 50 is meant to be injected, along with tylan 200. If you go with 200 it would .05cc per pound. Injectable tylan is not absorbed well through the digestive system and is best injected.

Most pen the time unfortunately it is a disease and the only way to know for sure is to test a sick bird. I would only dose a bird showing symptoms.

Ok...the girls HATE the electrolyte water so I changed it out this morning and they have drank 1 1/2 refills of waterer. Miss wyandotte is still raspy, no sneezing so think may go DYROMICN route and treat all. Putting cream onto buff eye again to prevent pecking but other than that, all 3 are good. Tylan is much harder to get here and 10x the price (should've gotten at show but higher there even). I'll follow up later. Thx:D

My birds don't seem to be particular about what kind of water either. I swear they like a particular waterer though. I have 3 options. A 1 gallon white and red plastic, 1 gallon galvanized, and 3 gallon white and red plastic with the heater built into the base for winter. They will drain the 1 gallon white and red then instead of going to another waterer, drink out of a mud puddle if it's there. Silly Birds!!!

Interesting about the water. My chickens don't seem to care what water they get. They drink probiotic water, pond water, vinegar water, and tap water. I have not yet tried electrolyte water.
our girls are all different lol. Our first group of 16 loved the yellow electrolyte water from hatchery packets, 2nd group of 4 liked the orange save a chick probiotic electrolyte water and this new group didn't like this orange one. To important for them to drink so I just put fresh water (we have a well) in waterer. I thought the electrolytes would help in transition to our home though in case they were missing something from being at the show all weekend.
