OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Hello Ohio! Pretty new to the scene! So wanted to send out a big hello! Just starting a new flock out in Ross Co. a few miles out of Highland Co. Hoping to get my 2 girls into poultry this year at the Highland Co. Fair. Anyone else show or have any good info about showing in Highland Co. I'd love to hear! (I was told we wouldn't be able to "just purchase any bird" to show.) I was hoping to get my oldest daughter into showing some Bantam Cochins or something smaller for her smaller hands, and something a bit less intimidating for a 6 year old to get her interested into what her older sister is doing. :) Right now I have 2-3 week old chicks in the dining room.

5 Barred Rocks, 5 Speckled Sussex, 4 EE, and 2 RIR the girls had to have because they were extra yellow and fuzzier. I gave in, they were adorable.
Hello and welcome to the forum! You'll find lots of knowledgable and helpful people here. I'm wanting to get my 9 year old son showing as well and looking for some bantams. Good luck with your endeavor!

Hi, I'm in McDonald between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. I have a small flock of Silkies and Frizzles. Actually hatched out more Roos in December, so if anyone interested, I'd love to find them good homes. I had an aunt that lived in the country and she loved her chickens, now I have caught the bug. I love giving the chicks grapes and watching them pass it around like a football. They are great pets.

Anyone in NE Ohio want a serama roo? I have a beautiful all chocolate boy who has been "voted off the island" and is not the current standard that I am breeding to....champion lines, though, and should be a good bird.

I will also have some assorted bantams available, for free...Cochins, frizzle Cochins, seramaXpolish (THAT should be interesting), etc. these were all part of my "fertility test" to see if the eggs were fertile before selling on eBay. They were....very, VERY fertile.... So they are available, too! I'm sure they will be cute as a button!! Free and available next week!

Okay, I am relocating to NE Ohio. You poultry people have it going on up there!

Wish I did...had a beautiful Millie Frizzle Cochin Hen....such a ball that my son named her "Tank", but sadly the neighbor's dog got loose and took her (My birds are free range).

I pride myself in raising beautiful, champion Serama and frizzle cochins that look more like balled-up feather boas than they do chickens! The serama and cochins are in the same pen, but the serama roos dont seem to know what to do with the cochins. (I also breed serama in controlled breeding situations). On the flip side, I also have three Jersey Giant hens in with my serama roosters, and although the serama know "what" to do, they don't seem to know "how" to get it done with them! (At 3 months old, Jersey Giant hens were several inches taller than the full grown serama!)
