OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Picked up a dozen Buckeye chicks from SRHartley on Tuesday. They are in the brooder and doing well so far. Almost forgot how quick little chicks switch from on to off.

Awh! I was looking for buckeyes when I went to pick out my chicks. Apparently that part of the country store's order got cancelled. Maybe some day.

Came home from work today and found what you never want to find in your brooder. One of the chicks had died. All of the chicks are up and around, eating, drinking, sleeping, etc. Had been keeping an eye on this one and one other as they were/are a bit more sluggish than the rest but still up and around, eating, and drinking.

Hi Everyone. Yeah I feel off the planet it seems. I have two ducks now I am trying to get use to, khaki Campbells. I adopted them from someone who thought they could be kept in the house running loose (without a diaper) and a 14 month child too. So yeah two days and the idea to get rid of them and I stepped up and took them in. So now I need to expand for ducks! Things aregetting busy with spring and I am waiting for a friend to call saying his incubator is hatching my eggs. I get to claim any Cochin crosses. I hope everyone is fine and getting along well. Hi to Minihorse, Shay, Big Medicine and others I have lost contact with.

I have so much to learn on the ducks! the little stinkers are so afraid, tried peas so far and won't come close to me yet. I need to get them and the chickens to mingle still. plan to keep my broom in hand in case my roosters or head hen cop a tude with them.

they'll come around once they realize you're the bringer of food and water. Ducks are easier than chickens once you get them grown up and outside. They're 10X's dirtier as babies though.

Oh they sling mud everywhere. the pen will need a new floor loaded in once they are out of it. I will get a new pic taken soon so you can hopefully give me some insight on them. I need to get a pond built before they get much larger, the bowl is getting small.

Yep. :(

Other than the one slow one left, the rest are looking good. All bright-eyed, clean and fuzzy, eating, drinking, running around, and sleeping.

Sorry to hear that @WYNot . Were they the buckeye chicks?

Edit to add... How'd you get my name to show up as a link like that?
