Hello I live in Toledo and have always wanted to raise chickens, we got some two days ago and turns out I am allergic to them! So, I need to find a new home for 7 chicks quickly. 3 from pullet bin (I believe they are Comets but cant remember for sure), 2 from assorted bantam bin (straight run) and 2 from barred rock bin (straight run). I am having a hard time finding a home for them, but really cannot keep them here much longer.

I'm amazed you're having trouble finding a home for them! Did you post on craigslist? If I weren't two hours away I'd come help you out for sure

Speaking of extra chickens, I have an adolescent cream legbar roo and an adolescent marraduna basque roo I'm not going to keep if anyone's interested. I'm asking $6 each for them just to cover feed. PM me if you'd like one or both -- these are for pick-up only. I'm in Mansfield.

I think its a bad time with TSC doing their "Chick Days" anybody that wants baby chicks is going to go buy their own. I've tried craigslist, and posted on facebook - no replies! Thought i'd try here as i dont know what else to do!

Y'know, you could always stick them in a box and go down to TSC... I bet almost anyone in the parking lot would take 'em home for you!

I would try posting them on Craigslist.. Offer them for free. There is always a post on there from someone wanting free chickens. Post it under "for sale - farm and garden." I wish I could help you out, but I have 10 right now and am picking up 5 more in two weeks. Yikes!

I am so hoping someone will be able to help me. I am looking to set up an "egg caravan" - trying to get some hatching eggs from Ashtabula, Ohio to around Toledo (or thereabouts). I'm near Flint, Michigan, and just can't drive all the way to Ashtabula & back home in a day...so trying to find someone who maybe runs that route on occasion!

Happy to feed the addiction, Katlyn.

It's nice to know my Hamburgs have a happy home. They should settle in to laying here pretty soon. I was getting two to three white eggs a day when I shut the lights off last fall. I expect they'll pick up and start laying like gangbusters by the end of the month. Also, I'll be working on the incubator later this week, and doing a test hatch as quick as I can. If you want to hatch out some chicks from your eggs, I'll let you know when I have room.
