OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Thanks, I sent them a message on Facebook too. Trying to keep myself busy insead of staring at my incubator all day. Urg! Eggs started rocking two days before lockdown and I haven't seen any movement today. It's day 19 and tomorrow at 10am day 20. I'm just hoping one hatches. Started with 12 and now down to 6. All six have been rocking on time or another this week.:D

I understand what you are going through! Placed 7 eggs in the incy, after 2nd candling only 3 were viable. 1 was rocking, but another one pipped and hatched on day 19. The one that was rocking stopped. On sat 21 I decided to check & sadly they were both dead ,: ( Needed to find some company for the single peep.

My new babies after only one hatched in the incy. Makes a bad day soooooo much better!!!

It is driving me crazy. Sat is day 21. I could have sworn they would have hatched early with them rocking so early. I was bad and candled them. Lol I made a fort with a blanket to keep the humidity up. Worked too because it didn't drop under 67% but none had internally pipped yet that I checked. One of the ones I checked was rocking tonight when I added water.so that is promising. I keep telling another had rocked last night and moved itself all the was against the side. I'm just a nervous wreck after the last hatching attempt.

allot less stressful with eggs under a broody. Mine are due to hatch Sunday under my broody. Only had one of seven in my incy.

We just started over with chicks again this year so they are all too young. As of right now I have 19 chicks, 2 of which who should lay any day and I still have to go to the store for eggs. Talk about frustrating. Thankfully in a couple of months I should have enough for us and to start selling again.

After I did the last post I went to check and I have an external pip :D If I unplug the incubator for a second, my circulating fan is pretty noisy, I can hear a chirp. So very excited.im hoping for more than one otherwise ill be running to rising sun, Indiana to pick up some friends for it. Really hoping for a NN too. They are blue frizzle NN project eggs I got on here.

hello fellow Ohioans. my wife and I run a small breeder's farm in southern Ohio. about half way between Chillicothe and Portsmouth. been into the chickens for about 3 years, always adding more. I am an active member of hatchaholics anonymous but its not working for me.

we raise and hatch, old English game bantams, sebrites, silkies, black rosecombs, cochin bantams, white leghorn bantams, buckeye bantams, silver penciled rock bantams. in large fowl we raise white rocks, barred rocks, black australorps, rhode island reds, new Hampshire reds, silver phoenix, light brahmas, French black copper marans (not laying well at the moment) basque, buff orpington, dominques, white leghorns, turkens, and a few others. we are also raising several new breeds for next year, rhodebars, salmon faverolles, Russian orloffs, white crested blue polish, partridge rocks, black giants just to name a few.

we truly love our birds, and enjoy showing them to small groups of people. we don't do the show thing, but several of our birds are from show quality stock.
if any of you have eggs to trade, let me know. look forward to meeting you all on here.

Quick questuin. I've never had an egg hatch so this may sound stupid. The egg from last night pipped and started zipping in the middle of the egg. This morning there is one zipping towrd the big end of the egg. The one in the middle hasn't made and progress since 2:30 this morning and its break it just sticking out. It is moving and chirping some but I know it can take upto 48 hours.
