Whee! Two rhodebars laying!!! And the four eggs I set to fertility-test are all doing great

The rhodebars have definitely become one of my favorite breeds. I'm trying to pare back but they're decidedly keepers!

doing pretty good, waiting on some I have here to start laying. my lemon cuckoo's are doing the molt before they lay, so it shouldn't be much longer on them.

Pretty! I keep wanting some LCOs, but I'm seriously trying to stop accumulating breeds. It's getting ridiculous. I'll probably fail, though!

Eaton Ohio TSC is having a small animal swap on Saturday July 13th. Hopefully they'll have a decent turn out. Eaton is in Preble county Rt 127.

Anything above 85 on the sending or the receiving end, the PO will not ship. I'm not sure what the weather looks like next week our where they are coming from?

how old are the pullets going to be?

We have an old coop that was here when we bought our property. It can be all closed up, but I know it still gets cold! We are moving our coop to a big fenced area, but no electric close by... Wonder if I should get huge extension cords for heat lamps or do they keep each other warm? Just looking for what to do and expect

we have our coop in the back of the barn, under the lean to. Fenced in run, we covered with plastic to keep the wind out. Chickens were out all winter! To afraid to use a heat lamp, due to fire or exploding bulb. They kept each other warm. Also used the "deep litter" method, which also helps keep them
