OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

My backyard is so soggy. Its draining very impressively but still soggy. Coop and run are nice and dry though. Yay! the only problem I have had is that our French drains seem to be dug only half way down our back yard instead of all the way to the fence. So where the stop large holes have appeared. Holes big enough for an entire RIR to disappear into. much more distressing for me than them.

Just an FYI: The TSC in Sidney (Shelby County) is having a swap this Saturday from 10 - 3. Easy to get to, right off I-75.

I think I am bringing 3 Silkie chicks. Possibly a gorgeous FBCM trio but still undecided on that. They are just about to lay.

If anyone is going and would like to meet up I would love to put faces to names and talk chickens for awhile! :D

My basement's flooded, but the coops are fine. They're up on either a gravel pile or wheels. The big main run has a creek running through it though.
sorry to hear this, the run problem is easy, some mulch or dust- even some straw. I usually stay away from straw because of mites, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

if you need this done - people who pump septic tanks will normally be set up to pump basements. I hope it wasn't a finished basement. also once you get it dried up, run a dehumidifier; that's how black mold gets started in a lot of homes.

) Anyways.... I live on a small poultry farm in Lucas, OH. We currently have over 100 hard-to-keep-track-of birds including; Muscovy ducks, Pekin Ducks, Geese, and of course, 4 different breeds of chickens. We also have a huge, soaked vegetable garden and pumpkin patch.
