OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

i have the same issue with buckeyes, probably 70-80% cockerels. do you have any extra hens?
I'm sorry I don't. A friend and I split 12 and I only ended up with 1 hen.

She only has 3 left of hers as she lost the others early on, and I'm not sure what hers are. I'm going to keep 1 of the cockerels and hope I can hatch out some next spring.

You are right, it is Sept 7th, I am super excited even though I won't have anything to sell
It'll be fun! I don't think I will have anything to sell either. I'm trying to decide whether to bring a pair of Egyptian Fayoumis. I have never had this breed and they are beautiful. They also are supposed to mature early and start laying at 16 weeks. These are almost there in a couple of weeks. So we will see!! I have 2 cockerels and 1 hen, which seems to be par for the course for me!!

I also have a blue andalusian cockerel and 2 hens, So I guess I won on this breed! They are actually splash, white with blue patches. I'm not sure what to do with the cockerel. I have 9 roos right now and going to send 4 buckeye cockerels to freezer camp. I think I would like to keep one of the EF's, as they are very pretty, but I only want 2 roos. I'm keeping 1 of the buckeye cockerels. I have a porcelain banty roo I bought from tsc last year, so I will definitely keep. This is the only reason I don't like buying chicks from tsc or hatching out my own, or any other place except a hatchery, I always end up with so many roos! I ordered 15 female chicks from Murray Mcmurray the 1st of June, and I'm thinking the rare one they sent extra with the order is a hen!

If it is, that'll be a first!!! They have always been roos as long as I have ordered from them. I don't think many will be interested in just the roos at the swap, though. I'm going to have to make up my mind shortly.

My coronation Sussex are throwing me for a loop at 11 weeks old. About 8 weeks old I was positive I had a trio, now I'm thinking 2 boys and 1 girl. Anyone fancy a guess? I'll get some pics this weekend of them.

I'm here in a suburb of Cleveland! :3

Anyone know of a place that will custom mix/mill feed around here? Having a pain in the rear finding anywhere to do it. D:

Whereabouts? I grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland! I don't know about feed though. I am sure that somewhere near me does, I go back to Cleveland often because my parents are still there. I could always try to find what you'd like here by me and bring it to Cleveland when I go there! :)

I know it's a bit drive from Cleveland but you could check out witmers feed and grain. If you decide to custom mix min. Order is half ton. But they have a nice selection of feeds mixed in house in fifty lb bags.

I live in mentor on the lake oh. Not sure if its legal to have chickens here. Does anyone know? I have 4 chicks right now, hope no one complains.
