i hate driving period. thats why i hate working for my brother. drove 8 hours tuesday in minihorses area. 5 hours yesterday, all close to local other than wheelersburg
then today was 9 hours, waverly, through jackson, back to wheelersburg, back through piketon.

tomorrow is about 10 hours, waverly through latham to chillicothe. im thinking about doing chilli early, like at 5 am to avoid traffic.

I have yet to actually drive it. Usually I just ride and find someone who likes to drive and has nothing to do. Lol driving makes me extremely tired. But I will probably have to do it myself this time because it ends up being an all day thing.

i dont know if this will help you, but i load up on MT dew and V-8 when im driving. something about the combo seems to make me like the energizer bunny.

Speaking of driving.... We're coming from north of Columbus to the swap. I figure three hours at least, but I need to check that. At any rate, setting my alarm for 5:00 am. I plan to load up the car tonight with the cages to figure out how to fit everybody. I just got a most excellent Great Dane sized dog crate that I plan to put 4 of my birds in once we get there, but it's too big to set up in the car, so the chickens will have to travel in cat carriers. I have a smaller crate for the other two that they can ride in. The smallest boy is not yet weaned (although I did have to pull him out of a tree at dusk the other night), so I think I will hang on to him for now.

I've never been to a swap or moved chickens, so this will be a big adventure! Looking forward to it.

Boy--wish I could come tomorrow! County fair coming up in a week and we have to get the birds my dd is taking tested for pullorum (thanks to the hatchery that never sent the PIP paperwork they promised, after repeated requests...losers), skillathons, and a garage sale to boot...then prep for riding in the wonderful Horse Parade with our 4-H club SUnday afternoon--horse baths, packing up...busy weekend! Hopefully some if not all of you can mosey up to Delaware County next month for the swap at Champion Feed!
