OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

i quarantine for a month and give preventative antibiotics, wormer, and vitamin suppliments. in case where i buy a mate for a "lonely" chicken, i will go ahead and pair them up. in my case i just cant risk the chance of bringing something in.

i will admit i am kicking myself in the rear end over not buying Kirsten's ameraucanas.

I've not given any of my new birds anything. I never thought of it. What antibiotics, wormer and supplements do you give? I've never wormed my birds. That makes sense with the stress and everything. And yes, Kirstens Ameraucanas were very nice!

They are very pretty!  I'm not familiar with ducks at all.  I loved the snowdens that Mandy had at the swap. I think that is the name of them. The white ones!
:D

Her snowy calls (or the pekins)? Oh yes they are gorgeous. :D

I'm not sure what the ivomec pour on is. I do use acv and I have given yogurt. I like this. What water soluble vitamins do you give. I have some that murray mcmurray send with new chicks. It's called quick chics Vitamin and electrolytes for poultry. Would that work? I think I have duramycin some where. If it isn't outdated. I will have to look.

That's great advice Brian! I usually just keep new birds very separate and watch them for awhile (if they're coming from you I'm not too worried!). I need to put something like this into effect from now on..
