OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I've always thought that if I lived in the South I'd get modern games, shamos, and buttercups. But here in Ohio, I've gone for pea-combed, cold-hardy Araucanas!

Blessedchick let me check with hubby. I would love to have swans. We have a pond and five ducks. How do the swans do for winter? My ducks are on their own. We feed them but they stay out wherever they want. Plus, how much would a pair be?

PM sent, Janalynyorkies!

Anyone interested in some calls? Shipping is cheap in Ohio for express plus I'll be bringing some to the swap Sunday.

Was thinking of bringing some of our layer stock as well. Possibly our Buff Orps and Silver Penciled Rocks. Young Viking Chickens for sure and bringing our Silkies to their new home.

As long as you bring your Basque I'll be happy! Feels like I've been waiting on those guys forever!
I was wondering, how big are your icelandic adults? I've only seen pictures other than the pullet I've hatched and everyone says they are tiny and smaller than the SFH. My pullet is HUGE. I honestly thought she was a roo until here recently. I need to get some pictures of her. I'd say she is almost as big as a English Orpington the same age.

They stay pretty darn small. Not bantam size but definitely a small standard chicken. Have never seen a SFH in person so not sure about that but if you have one as big as an EO that's not the norm. I've sold off my older juvies already or I'd bring one to show you. Do you know what line your Icie pullet is from? There is a Icie enthusiast Facebook page that could probably tell you more than I could.

You guys are killing me. Basques, Icelandics, SWANS!... And especially more calls!

Actually I'm not 100% sure we're bringing the Icies now. A friend of mine posted her flock on the 'Rare Breed FB page and had such an overwhelming response on hers (most of which I traded her for a goat LOL) that she is sending people my way and may have a buyer for them in Indiana.

Love it when chicken people help each other out like that!
