OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Oh man, that was a hoot! Just got home and got everyone sorted back into their houses and fed and watered and eggs collected. My two new beauties (thank you, Linda!!!) are in the guest quarters for the night and tomorrow I have to build another pen, whee!!!

It was so much fun meeting everyone -- Janalyn and Chickawawa and Chickadee and blessedchick. And minihorse, you snuck out too quick! By the way, Linda doesn't have silkies -- she has teddybears with feathers. Just the biggest, fluffiest silkies I've ever seen! Man, I came home and mine all look so scrawny in comparison

By sheer luck we set up right next to each other and even at that we barely got a chance to chat :-( I didn't get nearly enough time to visit with anyone else either -- that was too quick! We need to do another meet-up sometime soon :)

So, three people who've raised polish looked over my tolbunts and gave me three different opinions on sex... I tell ya, these birds are driving me crazy, lol! On the upside, though, I found new homes for thirteen of my chickens, only came home with two new ones, a bag of feed, and a full tank of gas :) so I'd call that a successful swap! Although resisting Chickawawa's icelandics was HAAAAARD!! The thought of building a whole new run and coop helped keep me in check, though... lol!

Linda, did you find where the baby chicks need to go?

I'm sorry i had to run off. Josh (the red head bearded guy with me) got a job last minute, yesterday morning, in Kansas and I knew I had already made agreements to buy some birds so I knew we had to go up for a short while. Hopefully next time I won't have to run off so quickly. I apologize to everyone. I'm not gonna lie, I'm having a really hard time with this.

Oh man! Yay on the job

I just wish I'd had more time to talk with everybody. I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off, lol!

I miss all the fun stuff. Boo!! It has been forever since I have been on here. I have spent the last two days trying to catch up. But I will say that my incubator is running and I have cute little babies forming. Even one from my silkies. Only 12 more days until hatch day. My little chocolate silkies are still with my broody and are doing great. Ill have to get a picture. In two weeks I will have chocolate cuckoo orp eggs in the incubator as well as some awesome silkie eggs from Bobbi Porto. Think it may be my last hatch because things are super busy around here with karate, cheerleading, my school stuff, and I now have 2 jobs. Yes, I am insane. But after the next two weeks it will only be a couple days a month. But I'm saving for a new incubator and brooder.

It was so nice meeting everyone today! It was soooo hard not to take every single chick, chicken (and kitties lol they were adorable!) home with me! I so wanted your seremas cluckitall but no where to put them! Arg! I need more coops! ;) That really stinks minihorse hopefully everything will go ok while he's gone.

AWWW! Thank you for the sweet comments about my Silkie Fluffy Butts! I like the description of them as teddy bears with feathers...they sure are huggable! I hope that those boys work out for you!

It sure seemed like a crazy time - non stop people/questions/greetings AWESOME! It sure shows that we have to get together again for all of us to talk chicken!

(and the chickies will be going to their new home shortly...all good, PTL)

minihorse, my prayers are with you. You know that us chicken peeps will help you out any way that we can!
