I'm also in Miamisburg got 2 RIR, 2 bantam BR which are great pets not so good as layers but have been doing better this winter. 1 BR 1 Partridge Rock and 2 BR Roosters. . Going to try the hand at hatching some coturnix quail (should hatch today if all went well in the bator)

Hi fellow Buckeyes, I hail from Cambridge just east of Zanesville and west of St. C. I have 20 chicks 1 rooster,3 dogs, 2 cats and 1 cockatial. In March I will be getting 20 more chicks. This little hobbie of chicken watching has become quite the addictive habit. I love to tend my flock. There is always something going on with them. This is the first time I have raised chickens and really enjoy the rewards.

You aren't too far from me. I have just 7 hens and a roo I started with in November, but I'm seriously wanting to enlarge. I'm thinking of putting in an order with Meyers and driving up to get the chicks. First I need a plan of managing them. Sigh. It is addictive.

Well I wanted to try the quail thing just to see if I could do it. 100 eggs went in and then nothing happened on hatch day so I waited 2 more days and well popcorn has been made. They are till hatching a few at a time still
