OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I got 11 wk olds doing the same thing, I think they called it juvenile molt

. It started yesterday, didn't noticed it with our first batch of hens.
I have 1.5wk old chicks and been seeing ratty spots on them around neck lines. Not losing any feathers and they've been itchy as they are getting new feathers.
Does anyone have an idea? I have DE available and other things I can do to help if it's really something. All they ear is the chick start n grow medicated.

1.5 wks old? That's so normal since their feathers are shooting out and generating lots of dander/dust

I'm new to this site and new to back yard chickens. We are in Xenia, Ohio. We have a young cockeral that needs rehoming. Thought we were getting all pullets. He's going on 12 weeks. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions where we can take him.

Thanks this is new to me so I didn't know.is there anything I can do to help them? Seems only the lighter ones look bad even though I'm sure darker ones are having same issues-BA started as they are largest next to BO

you can post on Craigslist or even in a farm paper. Good luck

Hello from NEOhio "kinsman" we have an amazing group of chickens. I specialize in Welsummer, Brahmas, and Barred Plymouth Rocks. But have about 40 different breeds.

We have 3 four month old Welsummer Roos if anyone is interested
As well as 7 three month old mixed Roos available

Hi everyone,
I haven't really been on in a while. Having 3 kids and a chicken obsession keeps you busy. We recently tried to hatch out a few Indian Runner eggs and I kind of stunk at it. Lol. It looks like we will only get 2 out of the 7 eggs.

Sadly we wanted more. Does anyone have any newly hatched babies in Morrow County? Preferably females. We are near Chesterville and I would love to make some chicken loving friends nearby. I am more than happy to learn as much as possible from someone that has been doing this longer. Currently we only have Blue Laced Red Wyandottes. And a lot of them at that. Currently growing them out until fall.
