If you're just selling them online or by word of mouth, I doubt it. But if you start trying to sell on a larger scale, I would look into if you need to be an LLC or anything. But selling a few eggs here and there, no big deal.

I'm not sure. It sounds smaller scale to me, as I have encountered people on Craigslist with bigger flocks than that selling eggs and chicks. But just because it's on Craigslist doesn't make it legal lol.

I guess at the end of the day, if this is going to be a business venture for you, you may want to look into an LLC or something. If you just think you'll have excess eggs and want to sell them for cash on Craigslist, then no need.

I should add that I am no expert at all. I'm just speaking from what I've seen sellers online doing.

I'm in West Mansfield, OH in Logan County (not to be confused with the West Side of Mansfield which is in a different County entirely).
I have 6 hens and 1 accidental rooster picked up from Meyer Hatchery on 4/4/2022 and 4/11/2022.
All are healthy but no one is laying yet. Rooster just started crowing last week.

That's an incredibly good question that I sadly don't know the answer to. My GUESS is one of the Orpingtons. I didn't get to see which chicken was in there, but it's a brown egg, not blue or green. Unfortunately, we also have several brown egg layers so.....
