i release all my birds, i tag there legs. and i relese them out on my grandparents land. They do very well out there. Ive actully seen a few come to her bird feeders that have the tags on there legs. so i know they live.
Its how u raise it. If it has to much contact with people and gets use to them it will not servive, u have to teach it how to eat on its own and fly. Its pretty hard to do when u cant really let it know ur helping it. When i relese them i make alot of noise and scare them so they dont go around people at all. Right now hes in a seperate room and i cover his cage when i feed him and wear a glove so he dont know its a person and rely on people for food.
i have a fenced in area in my backyard with a fenced in top. Kinda like a averary, and i put the bird in it and leave him. Theres branches and logs for the birds ti jump on and they kinda just learn how to fly. They try to get to the highest branch in the pen. I eventuley leave it in the pen and put meal worms and crickets in the bottom and hang a feeder and let them learn how to eat on there own. Once there eating on there own i go release them.
lol yup, its time consuming but worth it in the end
