Okay another dead rooster.

Well they have a huge lot of land so the sound isn't bad other then they seem to let them out only when my chickens are roaming. They may be fighting them or training them. Before I moved in here with my husband he had a puppy and they had 2 or 3 dogs that attacked the puppy. Well the dad, the man the owns the house, tied the dogs to a tree and ran them all down with his SUV! Maybe that is why I am hesitant about telling him about the rooster.

I think that pit bulls are also illegal within city limits. I will have to check tomorrow. What should I do, go and tell them my speculations or just check into the laws about the dogs?

Oh man sorry about the neighbor problems. I just gave up and fenced my yard. Then I fenced the chickens again for good measure. My expense, and I shouldn't have had to do it. My pets and I should have been safe in our own yard, but I admit I am happier now. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

My DH just talked to me today about fencing an area in for the chickens and then this happened and now he doesn't want me to let them out until we figure this out. He talked to somebody about getting some snow fencing? It's the plastic orange fence but that is like $80 for 100 ft so definately not cheap! Well I am going to go and check on the girls, I put them in the coop right after this happened. There was only 1 tail feather laying on the ground next to the rooster but other then that he doesn't look physically damaged. I need to go and bury him also.

I'd check into the rules and then make a report to animal control without leaving my name. It's a pretty scary situation. Next time it could be one of your kids.

I think that is what I would do, I am scared that I might start finding dead chickens. BTW your 3 SLW are blending in with my girls great! They actually lay in the nesting boxes which is something I was trying to teach my girls so hopefully mine will start doing it now.

OMG! If that had happened in these parts, it would have been all over the news and that man would be in handcuffs!!!!
I hope you can get this straightened out.
You might want to put a 'wanted' ad on Craigs list for some of the snow fencing you speak of, or poultry netting. I see people looking to sell it, used, often enough.

I tried to call the cops on these people once, they had an 18 yr old illegal living there that was the nefew, then when the cops showed up it turned into their long lost son. Anyways this guy hit my son who was 4 at the time, then the cops had the nerve to tell me the mexican culture liked to take care of thing within their community and they ploice weren't doing anything about it. I got my satisfaction when he was pulled over a deported a few months later. He's back now though, oh well.
