The little Serama hen has laid two eggs in three days. Any suggestions for what to do with them? I was wondering - if I put them in her cage, will she set on them? She doesn't act broody, yet, but if both eggs are there, would that encourage her? I'm not necessarily trying to breed her, but just thought it would be a fun experiment to she what she would do. If they hatch, great! If not, it will be a learning experience for us both. Thoughts anyone?
Sooner, you guys wouldn't believe how hard I worked on these, I was so upset and mad at myself for not realizing how long it would take. I'll never get birds before pens again
And it was SO hot out. The babies couldn't even go outside anyway once I'd get a part of it done because it was 117 flippin' degrees out and they were used to being inside in the AC. They never got a chance to get used to the heat gradually so I couldn't put them out in the middle of it. So I had 16 Silkie babies and 8 Cochin babies in brooders inside this 30' RV. It's got a great air conditioner, hot water, stove, everything. But it sure got crowded there towards the end. We were ALL glad when they could go outside, it got down to 105 degrees so we had fans on everyone then. My chickens and fish hardly costed anything. Why do their aquariums and pens cost so much??
We don't live in an RV, just wanted to clear that up! No way all my dogs would fit in there. The RV sits next to the house. I sure spend a lot of time in it though.

Carl, there's got to be an easier way to do it. I got 26 free cedar 4"x4" from my FIL's big sawmill machine. Those and 6' welded wire is going to be the turkey's pen. Sounds easier if you say it fast.
Ksane, beautiful pictures! You put your saved money to good use on that pen! And wow, your birds are so pretty too - even the Cornish.....and I don't even like Cornish
