Yes Ksane .They can survive outside during the worst of winter as long as they have a dry and draft fre place. Doesn't have to be airtight but at least closed on three sides,the open side being east. Give corn chops during the coldest of times and it will keep them warm. Normally they won't eat the corn any other time if they have a choice of other grains. A good scratch mix great for them,and what grains they don't eat you can feed to the chickens. Don't know how close you are to Michael D. but he usually has a few modenas around,you might be able to get more for a bigger flock!Don't forget to give them some oyster shell for grit purpose and a calcium source. They have a new modena out now that is a (bantam) variety. They are called Germane Modenas and are smaller in size.
