I've got a funny/unique OEGB Crele story for ya...

Our little Crele hen went broody here a while back, after sitting on her own egg clutch, other hens started to lay in her nest when she would go eat, poor thing barely covered her own eggs...well after three of her own eggs hatched, she stopped sitting on the nest. One of the chicks died with in hours so we took her remaining chicks from her...put them in the brooder and went ahead and placed all the remaining eggs in a 'bator to see what would happen.

So far we have 12 new chicks...one hatches about every other day!

They are the only chicks in the brooder right now and its funny to see the size comparison between the chicks. Another one was waiting for us in the bator this morning with only two eggs left.

Not a problem... I do so many it is becoming an every weekend event. Just make sure he has at least 3 weeks to heal up good before he is shown.

He is considered the spare.
