***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I am eating the most delicious pecan butter on toast--- so yummy. Made by Ziegelmeiers out of Ada-- they have it in whole foods now. If you like pecans it is a nice treat.

P&B why are you catching the guineas? I prefer to catch them @ night when they are roosting. I have one really good flock that will lead where ever I call them. My DD always is going quack quack quack. She says they look like ducks lined up following me for their treats. My other flock don't free range, but got out once. When I discovered them out they were lined up on the roof of the barn. That was a few fun hours for the whole family.

Our oldest sent the link to her new work website. I don't know anyone busier than our DD. I'm glad DH was already at work when I opened the link because I sat here for five minutes and cried. He would have thought something was wrong. Life is good. Sometimes everything is right.

I finally got pictures of the house to upload. The native rock is restored, and the trim and siding are painted to compliment the rock. It was worth the wait.

P&B I would love to see you guys out there catching them!!! I know I shouldn't laugh but I can see it in my minds eye so well.

POCO love the house, the rock & paint looks wonderful.

Robin glad you got your little one's & hope the other is okay.

We tried to catch the guineas last night, but they roost on top of the 12 foot high peacock pen. It is too wide to reach across, even from a tall ladder, so about all we managed to do was scare them into the tree above the pen.

DH has a friend who wants to show him how delicious guineas can be when properly prepared. Since we have about 30 of the pearl guineas running loose and I want to switch to lavender guineas, I am willing to part with some pearl guineas in the interest of culinary exploration.

I almost edited my post to add a laughing icon after the one banging its head against the wall, because it really was funny. I would have taken pictures if the light had been better inside the barn.

And I agree - Poco's rock house is BEAUTIFUL!

The only reason I know how funny it can be is because I have been there done that with chickens. I would like to know how it tastes when you find out. Of course you may have to pen them & fatten them back up since you ran them this morning....

I have some lavenders that I hatched with only the intent of butchering them! I prefer the pearls for free range, they don't seem to get snatched up as easy. If we like the taste of the lavenders I plan on order jumbo pearls in the spring that will become my new free range flock & also be a regular feature on the dinner table. I think it is a win win--- keets do go threw a bunch of food from 3-6 wks, bt once they are big enough to forage they hardly eat any feed at all.

Poco it must feel nice to know your DD is doing well. You can't tell your house was ever painted, I think they did a great job.

No! I'm sorry! My phone went through the washing machine a few wks ago and hasn't worked since. I keep meaning to put my sim card into another AT&T phone and keep forgetting.
What did I miss?
