***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Sooner,
I can bring Potato Salad too. I made my Mom's recipe last POOPS and got a lot of complements (Mom gets the credit)
- It was the one that with celery seed and a little bit of tang in the dressing, (vinegar). The dressing is cooked and that is a bit of extra trouble but it is so good I don't mind.

I love how Okie's are so helpful & thank you guys!!!!

Let leave anyone that is already signed up stay as they are until everyone else picks something. As we get closer if we are still lacking in any area I will make a post for what is needed.

Cath, yes it is very possible to get a roo by mistake. I would wait to see what you have before getting one because you can almost always find roo's pretty easy!

Sooner just let me know. Happy to bring anything that will travel well. I usually go with fruit since many potlucks are full of yummy home cooking that is less than good for you. Plus fruit is generally allergy free & works well for vegetarians.

My chicks always make a liar out of me!!!! I was thinking my main cabinet incubator was having humidity that was way too high. My last 2 hatches haven't been as high of hatch rate as usual. Right now I have auction cuckoo maran eggs & in the past hour or 2 at least 10 have pipped & a few are almost all the way out. They were sat in the shelf below the eggs that we just had a poor hatch rate on.

Still no more guinea eggs have pipped yet, but we have a few seabright eggs in with the guineas & they are pipping. This will be our first seabrights to hatch. But of course, one pipped upside down! Okie ridge I took out the white guinea & the pearl since none of the other eggs had pipped yet. They are eating & drinking well.

Yes, that's what i thought too. But. I. Want. More. Now.
I'm building my run twice as big as I had originally intended. I can't make the coop bigger but I can add another roost and bump out the nest boxes (when I build them) to give more space inside.
I have the chicken fever!

keep trying to post from my dial up but it isnt working so having to post from my phone.

Katie that is a great coop, you will love the buff orphingtons they are my best egg layers.

Christina, if you decide to sell a few of the heriyage RIR I would love 6. i had been planning to order some but woyld much rather get them locally. That is great on the guineas does your daughter want to hatch some more. i have more if she does.

Nana love the garden!!!

Hi everyone, hope you all have a Happy Easter!!! Have a great day!!! Lynn

Hi Greybear, Thanks and Happy Easter to you too. And to everyone.

Hope this is OK to post here, I need some peacock eggs, does any one have any for sale? Or know where to get some? I'd appreciate it if any one can halp....let me know location and price please.

Got lots of Paint Silkies and Showgirls this spring. Isn't it great in Oklahoma in the spring?

Okie ridge she is always open to hatching more! She love to hatch all eggs. It is easier for me if we focus on hatching one thing at a time. I struggle to keep that girl straight when she is hatching guineas & chickens. She starts getting dates mixed up. I have her putting a sticker on each tray, what day it is set & when to lock down. She thinks it is torture, but running 3 incubators she kept getting confused who was going on lock down next. Past few wks she has been doing 2 hatches a wk, this wk we had 3 hatches!
I only have an adult trio of heritage RIR right now. But I could probably come up with 6 chicks in the future. I honestly don't have an accurate count on how many we have in the brooders. My goal is to sell all my production RIR next spring & only have the heritage. A few of my production rir girls are a little crazy. They will fuss & carry on for a solid hour if someone is in "their" nesting box& dont like to be petted. Hatcheries generally don't breed for personality, maybe that is why I have a few crazy gals!
