***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Don't blame her a bit, my view on breakfast is if you wake up hungry, you got two arms and two legs, you can pour it as good as I can! Yep I said pour b/c that is the ONLY type of breakfast you will get from me. I am so not a morning person and really dislike noise in the morning so no one wants me near knives and fire in the morning!

MEANY, MEANY, MEANY!!!!!!!!!

MEAN OLDGIRLS!!!!

Some pics of a new trio I bought just because I like the looks of them, I am sure they are a cross of Oriental of some kind and a Game of some kind but I like them!!! Lynn Well I can't figure out how to retrieve them from a folder on yahoo to get them here, copy and paste didn't work!! Sorry!

Turned on the big shop fan for the birds in their coop. I only saw a few free ranging out in the yard. The rest are all digging holes trying to stay cool in their shelter. The dogs have all retreated under the porch stairs & the goats are napping in the shade.
I don't miss the heat we had last summer. Not looking forward to triple digits!

Carl it will be good when things slow down at you day job so you can go back to your real full time job hatching chicks & caring for your birds!

Hey Guy, i called you on both phone numbers yesterday about 5 times, never got an answer, did get a recording to leave a message and did!! Anyways was wondering what you think about mating up a Law Grey Stag to a real ginger colored Red Quill pullet in an attemp to get a Silver Ginger or Silver Quill!!! just playin here but was wondering if you had ever done this!!! :Lynn

Oh, hatching and the birds are not suffering by any stretch. I know I can't count how many I have already hatched this year but is well into the thousands. I have eliminated a few varieties and made room for another breed that I am working with. Still have so dang many young birds but culling hard makes a difference.
Don't think the job will slow down for quite some time have so much to get done there too, its a balancing act so long as I don't fall over anytime soon it's all good. Playing catch up around here anytime I have a few hours to spare and paying my boys, neighbor's boys, and others to do what I don't have time for.
Need to build a few more pens for fall and next year, new conditioning pens for show season, and time to keep the birds parasite free is the issue at this point. I have 6 breeder pens set for fall / spring show pullets and setting 90-120 a week from them.I have more rosecombs coming for teh next three weeks which will be 2-300 a week so another 900-1200 are exepected over the next month.
I do have a trio of Black Rosecombs available for Poops if anyone is interested but will not bring them if they are not requested. Will also have a trio of Columbian OE available. I have 6 pairs set asside for Madison to show this fall, and a few youngsters in SE Ok. who are just getting started will need some stuff too.
