***OKIES in the BYC III ***

My dog weighs 2lb and is full grown the roo is 6lb? And not full grown I hatched him but he doesn't seem like he is hurting her but jumps on her does his thing and let's her go she runs to me barking and growling. I have sprayed him with the water hose pened him up for time out even kicked him gently but enough to get him off her. He won't quit. It maybee time for the sale if I can catch him he has been running from me because of the disapline lessons.

See if the hubby will give you a hand with the chicken round up

Treats, they work everytime for me. I don't have a chicken on the place that won't come eat a bug from me. If you don't have feeder bugs, they talk about the dog food that looks like hamburger as being an irresistable treat.

99% of the time he may not hurt the little dog, but it only takes once, especially w/ that small of a dog. Or the dog may get to dread going outside he may start pottying in the house.

We live in Newcastle and the storm ( storms were terrible ) . The first storm came thru about 7pm while I was trying to roundup the chickens and guineas so they wouldn't get blown away . I was caught in the barn watching golf ball size hail and winds that almost blew my chicken house away . Finally made it to the house with the help of my husband and golfcart . The second storm was from the north and was worse with higher winds and lots of nickel size hail . Lost alot of large branches on our walnut trees but all the animals survived .

Hope everyone else is ok . Looks like most of folks on the board lucked out and it passed around them .
Looking forward to the Newcastle sale .
Sorry for the frightful storm event but glad no animals were hurt!

Worked up sand plums and peaches today. The chickens sure love the pulp and trimmings.
This is in the oven

We have early peaches on a dwarf tree planted two years ago.

Roosters don't "get" time out. I know I have posted a picture of my rooster in time out, but I was joking. It's not for discipline, he's just separated. Does he have any hens? I mean, I don't think he'd be turning away from the real thing to get some strange action? I could be wrong, it's just a new one on me. Personally, I think if you want to keep him, he needs some hens. Maybe he's bottom on the totem pole and doesn't have any women of his own. Even more personally, you have to decide if you want to keep him. Persistent unwanted mating is a fryin' offense around here.

Hello fellow Okies!

Quick question on feed. I'm newbie and am just trying to figure out what's available around the Tulsa area. I'm wanting organic, soy-free layer feed and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

I know I can get some through Azure for a reasonable price, but just thought I'd pick y'alls brains.

Thanks!

Quote: The coons won't eat the shells but they will carry them off to eat somewhere else, If it's a large snake it may eat quite a few fresher eggs but the more developed they are the less it takes to make a meal, and even with snakes they regurgitate the shell somewhere, I doubt it's a snake since all the eggs are missing I've discovered that my dog is stealing the eggs out of my ducks nests and I know she isn't eating the shells but I don't find many of them
not sure where she is hiding them,
I have a free range rooster that keeps jumping my little dog like a hen. She can't even go out and potty without running from the roo. What do I do ?
I'd keep an eye on the roo and if you catch him playing dead stalking buzzards, I'd make dumplings for sure..
