You want a treat? Mealworms! They will run over you and drag you down for those things. My flowerhen, Orlando Bloom Hen, will jump up in my lap and take them by force, if he has to!

mine will barely touch them! bread....thats a different story. Thewll fly right up to my hands & pull it from my fingers, chase me all over the yard for it! LOL

Tomatoes and strawberries are good, too. Soggy wet bread is one of the favorites around here, too.

Oh yeah, my chickens lovelovelove little cherry tomatoes straight out of the garden. And I've learned to keep the potted pepper plants up higher out of their reach, because they'll eat those down to the dirt.

Today's project was making 2 ramps so my chunky little bum-legged OEGB rooster, Chester Wayne, can get up to the very top roost with his girls. He's too heavy chested to fly so all his little girls end up roosting way up above him. I swear he strutted when i showed him how to use his ramps and he got to the very top lol Here's the ramps, the best picture i could get with my iPad. The 1st ramp leads to their 2nd level and the 2nd ramp leads to a roost at the peak of the coop. The 2nd picture is Chester Wayne and his girls, he's the coolest little rooster. I got him 18 months ago for $7 at the Newcastle auction They're in a 4x8 coop I made last year, my husband roofed it for me.








Yesterday's project was hanging ropes, a metal bucket and a basket for the Ringneck Dove pair and the 2 Pigeon girls, they love them. There's a rooster and my 2 new Silver Phoenix girls in there also, it's a 10x10 pen. I made 2 wire covered windows and ledges in there-the rooster is on one of the ledges. They love to sit and watch things out their windows.




Trying to decide on tomorrow's project....I found that if I walk/jog just 2 miles in the mornings I've got energy that lasts all day. That's so strange! If I skip the 2 miles I can barely get off the couch all day. I've been doing it a month now, I can't believe how much better I feel.
