You can buy it that way just by the bag..I no a guy that has corn grown an they add soy to up the protein an they will sack it.. I think Buster has all his sackd they will mixs it or put in just wat ever you wont thim to ...An you can buy 500lbs at a time .. I get 500 corn 500 milo 500 wheat an they mixs it together for me 120.00

I have mine mixed and bagged. It costs about half what commercial feed costs. Bagging costs about $1 per 50 lbs. I vary protein content by the amount of soybean meal I use. To increase the protein, I lower the corn percentage and up the SBM and vice versa. I'm going to start adding organic poultry nutri-balancer. My friend Grady told me about that one. But, right now, my ingredients include (in order of amount) corn, SBM, wheat, oats, milo, calcium, and molasses, and have it all ground and mixed. This last trip I paid about $9 per 50 pound sack.

I do a LOT of bowfishing! Im going tomorrow night in fact. We are usually putting our boat in the water as people are bringing theirs in. We usually come back in around 5am, hit Dennys in mcalester, then go home and sleep the Saturday away, then do it again that nite. Since I hit my 30s, staying up all night now involves an energy drink or two and some Little Debbies...

Our swap went pretty good. I've gotten some emails from people off Craigslist asking when we are gonna have another swap. It'll probably be this fall after I get back from Australia. Just don't think the summer months are good for outdoor swaps. If I need to sell any pigeons or bantams, ill just take em to Wister until we do a fall swap.

Joe - Thanks for working with me on the time today. I still have two trees needing some doctoring tomorrow, but the worst of it is done. I really enjoyed visiting with you and your family. Your kids remind me of my own, when they were young. Now they have little ones about the same age as yours. It makes me feel ancient. No. I take that back. It makes me feel hopeful. Families still exist. People still get married, have kids, and stay married and raise their kids. Visiting with families does not make me feel old; it makes me feel happy. Thank you.

The drive back was uneventful. I enjoyed the scenery and didn't have the sun in my eyes until after I passed through Proctor. My gorgeous new chickens from Joe are bedded down and sleeping soundly. Today was a very good day.

I knew that Grady was selling the nutri-balancer now & had looked @ LOTS of different recipes. Cleaning out a spot in the barn to put the feed & talking myself into driving out there is my biggest challenges right now.

I will defiantly make an attempt to see if Marlow has all the Ingredients Think they are about 30 minutes closer to me.

Just an FYI for everyone. Lawton is getting a TSC. I am very thankful. Last time I was in Lawton, went in atwoods they only had 1 thing of animal bedding & no metal chick waterers Will be nice to have another option when shopping in Lawton.

Hello to Dgibson....you have a great variety of chicken breeds!

Have been working on a coop and run design to utilize a 6 x 10 chain link dog run...have mixed up the panels and will attach it to the welded hen run....and include the 6 x 8 grow out pen so the outside dimension will be 14 x 16. Have the old window shutters I'm going to use for the coop/roost walls.....had to make some little mock ups to see where the kinks were...easier than building and having to remodel.
The babies are ready to come out of the cages and the older pullets need more room for exercising. should accomplish both. Now for some sleep before the next dawn breaks.
