I agree, the stress just melts away when you hang in the coop! My husband just can't figure out why I go to the coop after a stressful day, poor fella!!! I have 18 babies on the way around the 24th. This will be my first order from Meyer, I hope they are A healthy as my MM chicks were!It just doesn't sound worth it to import for that price unless I was bigtime on breeding them. Guess there goes that idea! HA! Congrats on the babies!!! My CL eggs are due to hatch on the 10th.![]()
I went ahead and messaged them yesterday. They will be selling chicks on ebay and said they would give me the link. Not sure if I can afford it but I would gladly give up my Starbucks coffee for a few months just to get those. And my yarn addiction. And maybe even give up on my incubating addiction as well for at least a while. A girl can dream...
Ok, so I am new at the world of chickens. My only chicks before my marans were my lav orp and I had one cockerel out of the five I had bought. I have three Marans (bless Pasty Butt's little heart. I miss him.RIP) and they are just cracking me up!! They are having stare downs with the stink eye, ruffling neck feathers and then they are at it! One will start it and then it is on with all three! HA! Sorry, but I find it SO funny because they are such boys! Ruff and tumble, pecking and pulling on feathers, teasing each other. I didn't know they started this so young. I could sit and watch then I am just rolling!!The 3 girls just get out of the way like, Ugh, Theyre at it again. They are just now 2 mo old. Cute little buggers!![]()
Nice ones?Oh and some BLRW Roos as well
Why am I not there then!!!!???? I hate to find out that I am missing out on something. Don't think hubby would let me drive to Newcastle any way but I might have if I had known they had those. This is why I need to stay away from auctions. I just got my flock over the junk from no quarantine last time (guess who has a quarantine pen now!!!Okay so we are at the Newcastle auction and there are a bunch of Speckled Sussex here. Actually there are 2 quads. The Roos are okay but the hens are really nice.
