***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I am in a big quandry about Ari my little rumpless tufted araucana roo

I have very limited space for roos, so I don't think I am going to be able to keep him. I was going to hatch a few eggs from him and my EE girls, but he is so tiny. I was out watching them yesterday trying to pick the girls I would put him with, and he is like 1/2 to 2/3 the size of my hatchery EE females. I really want to keep full size birds as the layers and the DP, but he is soooo pretty.

Evening : )

Baby Kendall was released from the hospital on Tuesday. She is doing well. Thanks, again, for all who sent prayers and happy thoughts.
This week at school has kicked my backside. I'm tired, tired, tired, and we still have Friday to go. Next week we give semester tests. I feel like

If only I could get my students to stop

Robin - Hope the roo is better.

Joe - If you're lurking out there, is there a Coweta sale in December?

Oh I wish he was in Aust. I have loved this guy ever since you first posted him (or similar one) & always wondered if that incredible blue would pass on to his chicks.Imagine him crossed with a white bantam cochin. Anyway, one can dream. I hope you find him a good home.

i'm going to be in a similar predicament soon i also only have a limited amount of space i was only planing to keep one or two roos . I ordered 3 of 5 different colors of straight run polish chicks and was hoping to get at least one hen of each color but unfortunately for me i think all three of my gold lace are roos and my favorit little red one seems like it maybe a roo also. I also got two silkies and i think i have one hen and one roo. decisions are hard for me to make sometimes

yea, glad she got to go home, lol i love the fighting smileys

Good to hear kendall is home!

here is a pic of the foot, spent the morning soaking in the tub off an on- any thoughts or suggestions?

It looks like Bumblefoot to me, so I think you're dealing with a staph infection. Do you have erythromycin or penicillin? 3-5 days of antibiotics in the water should give your roo enough support to recover from the infection.
