***OKIES in the BYC III ***

May not be able to make it to NewCastle Saturday...hubby said since the cow needs to be in the squeeze chute and the baby still needs help three times a day...and there are three more heifers ready to pop, we will need to stay close to home. Even with nice weather, the heifers need a close watch for birthing problems.
Might try to work something out with someone close to me who is going....or plan on going on the 20th.

Sorry they are all bucks! I would have been heart broken if the one with all the color was a buckling. She is my favorite! Hope you have lots of does from the next few kiddings& your doe can handle all those boys nursjng on her! All baby goats are so cute... LaManchas without ears may be the exception IMO.
LOL, i think LaManchas are a little odd looking. Thanks i hope we get at least 3 girls we need them for future show goats my girls prefer to show does. yea, hope she can feed all 3 if not i guess i will be bottle feeding agin, last year she rejected one that was born week and not breathing well we had to work with it awhile and then she wouldn't take it back.

We have a LaMancha buck named Bullseye how is the ugliest yet sweetest thing ever!! Our Alpine doe Annabelle is a little snooty! Lol

I have heard of scoring the seeds with a knife before planting them but I planted some about 5 yrs. ago and they come up every year on their own. In fact they are invasive, like weeds, smothering some other plants.
Try scoring with knife and soaking in water 24 hours, the seed are hard and soaking helps the seeds to germinate

I am going to NewCastle and leaving here about 4:00 p.m. and Jack is going and leaving at 11:00 a.m., (got a VIP Birthday party,DGD turning 5!) One of us could take what you need.

Anybody looking for Wewlsummer chicks? Jack's Welsummers and laying and hatching up a storm right now.

one of our barn cats checking out the new arrivals.

That shows how tiny the kids are right now. Too sweet!
Our barn cat comes out to check all the activity by the pens and sits on the shade cloth over the big pen. The birds are used to his shadow up there and don't even alert when he gets uo there.

Nana I would be more than happy to take your birds, if you were this way. Hate that you can't make the sale, but I understand. I let Bambi control my every move the past 2 wks, I wanted to make sure I was close by for her first kidding.

Who else is making the Newcastle sale?? Weather is suppose to be amazing, should be a packed sale!
