one of the best ways to tame her is to give her a bumble bath, flea shampoo, then she will relax for you, blow dry - easy way to find mites, they are hard to see-

yep, you were right she defently has mites, How do i get rid of them, also think she might be wormie saw one floting in the water when i bathed her.  How do i worm her?  I have read someting about useing ivermectin if so what kind and how much?

There was a discussion a few days ago about worming....use Wazine first in the water. If your bird has worms, you don't want make her toxic by doing a huge kill all at once. Wazine will get the round worms first. Two weeks later, do it again for a better kill for those that hatch. then you can use Ivermectin to kill all the internal and external parasites that are left.

For a heavy infestation of mites. You will need to do several bathes
First soak her in a five gallon bucket up to her neck in comfortable warm water to thoroughly soak her to the skin for 5 - 10 minutes. Work your hand thru her feathers to loosen mites and frase and eggs. You will see dead mites in the water.
After several rinses you can bathe her with flea/tick shampoo. Rinse her several times in clean water.
Then mix your dip. I use Adam's...one tablespoon per gallon of water. Let her stand in the dip up to her neck for at least 5 minutes. Do Not Rinse her this time. Let her air dry in the bath tub on a towel or blow her dry. On a nice sunny day, she can dry outside.

i thought i had read someting about it but could not find it agin thanks, whtat kind of ivermctin? the pour on or the injectable or someting else? and were do i find wazine?

wazine at a feed store- ivermectin pour-on for cattle, use it like frontline a few drops on the skin usually between the feathers-

i solved the mystery with my cochin- worms... in isolation i could check her droppings- ewww yuk! so she and her buddy, a cochin she was raised with are in the spare room getting wormed- she is actually drinking on her own too- i used safeguard, should i switch it out with wazine?

can chickens get lice? because some of the bugs looked like the lice that get on our goats.

Yes, there are feather lice....about 1/8 inch long...yellow, gold or light brown...
Mites and lice come from wild birds.
Treat lice the same way as mites.

And another question, Could these worms cause a hen to go egg bound? This is what I am thinking happen to my hen.

Usually an egg bound hen will walk practally upright or she will sit upright from the pain. If a worm infestation is bad enough it will usually cause the hen to stop laying altogether.

 If the hen does continue to lay it can create a lot of reproductive problems due to the swollen intestines pushing the other organs out of place.

 I do think that a good worming of the flock is in order though. Start by worming with Wazine which is usually sold where you buy feed. then in 14 days hit them with Wazine again. then after another 14 days use Ivermectin.

 The reason for the Wazine at first is that it only kills adult round worms and if the infestation is heavy it will miss quite a few of them which is a good thing. If you were to kill all of the worms at once they could block the intestines and set up a deadly toxin as they decay. The Ivermec at the last will kill all parastes, internal and external.

 While going through the course of worming be sure to wait for two weeks after stoppnig treatment to eat the eggs from the hens, what I do is to boil up the eggs and feed them back to the hens because at this time they need the extra boost.

I keep Wazine in the medical cabinet. Haven!t used Safeguard so can't speak to that brand.

yep that is exactly what they loked like, glad the are treated in the same way as the mites.
