***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hey all,
I have a sick chicken. She is congested like she has a cold. I have been giving her VetRx and I bought some Tylan 50 injectable today. If I give her the Tylan what dosage do I give. I know this has been discussed before but I though I would ask before digging through the posts. Also she seems a little better since I started giving her the vetrx. Should I even give her the Tylan at all?

here is the dosage info- yes, go ahead with the tylan, vet rx is a supportive therapy, but won't knock out what she has-

TYLAN

Dosage is 1/2cc injected into the breast muscle once a day for 3 days, 1/4cc for smaller birds. Inject just under the skin and alternate breasts and dont inject into the same site.

It can be given orally; 1/2cc orally once a day for 5-7 days, but no more than 7 days...1/4cc for smaller birds.

Not 100% sure I'm going to the Labor Day meet-up, but would anyone be interested in these Tolbunt chicks? There are 2 tolbunts and 1 split. I need at least $80 for all of them. They are 3-weeks old, come from Greenfire lines and a NPIP flock. Don't know the sex. As much as I'd like to keep them, I've decided there's not much of a point when I can't have roosters.

would love to have them but they are out of my price range unforchently for me.

? what should be done with eggs that you know are at least three days old . three days ago my egg production went to half . I figured heat over Saturday I figured out the roosters were keeping them from the coop so this morning I let everyone out and fallowed this is what I found.

So ridiculously proud of myself right now, and no one is home to brag to so I'll brag to you guys. So we got new furniture this week, and there is one sofa the dogs love to lay on, and I have been pondering the best way to protect it from the dogs nails and wet feet when they come in from outside. I decided on a semi-fitted couch slip cover. Now there is no way in the world I would ever be able to match this color, and even if I could find a co-ordinating color finding one that fit the sofa and was thick enough to offer protection would be very pricy. So I remember years ago I bought this upholstery fabric for almost nothing b/c is was sooooooo terribly ugly (seriously ugly) The correct side is that velvety kind of fabric black mottled w/ all kinds of dark colors, but the back side is tight woven canvas. Now I have a box of almost every color of embroidery thread DMC makes sooooooo I go to my thread find the color that matches the sofa, then head out to the trusty Wally World find the little paint mixing man (see where I am going here?) get him to mix my perfect match of paint, mix the paint w/ fabric medium paint the back side of the fabric, a stitch here a seam there and viola a perfect color match semi fitted sofa cover thick enough to stand up against doggy feet and now even more impervious to liquid thanks to the paint. A frugal moment even my Gma would be proud of!
