***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I saw a promise of pics on FB, but sadly no pics.

LOL....still waiting for them to finish uploading...BYC was faster.

I have 3 NNs now!

At one time I was taking pics in a on one knee/squatting position with Nana pecking my back and that little silver laced pullet I got from Coral squeezed in under my butt. The columbian NN is curious...she won't let me touch her yet but she was usually always not far from me....and also pecked my back once. Her boldness reminds me of Nana.

Dusti, you have beautiful birds... lots and lots and LOTS of beautiful birds!

It's why I call your place the home of the fowl horde. If you ever become a breeder, that needs to be your name... Fowl Horde Farms.

How long do eggs stay fertile after a rooster has been removed from a pen and, how is the best way to store eggs that are going to a incubator ? I am still a little new to chickens ..

Yes Nana has always been a curious girl, into everything.

two weeks is a good bet, up to a month is possible. Store them in an empty egg crate with the pointy end down. Room temp or a little cooler is great. You can store them for up to 10 days without affecting hatch rates but as long as you set them within 2 weeks most should still hatch.

Great photos Dusti!,,
And to think you stood at POOPS in Newcastle holding a Black pullet for me and now you have all those lovely varieties. Of course, I'm partial to the Wyandottes. but those are pretty neat beards and NN.
